Your christmas star

You helped celebrate the Stars in our community, by sharing your stories of the people that make a difference.

In 2022, we took a moment to celebrate the people who make a difference in our community – our Christmas Stars.

We asked people to nominate someone who has made a difference in their life or our local community. It could have been a carer or PA, an NHS superstar, or a friend or family member whose support means everything.

The first names of your Christmas Stars were featured on the stars decorating the Independent Lives Christmas tree in Montague Street, Worthing - near The Works - between 2 December and 23 December.

Eden was nominated by her mum, Helen, who she is also a Personal Assistant for. ⭐⭐⭐ Helen says: “She’s always happy, like a ray of sunshine. She knows what I need before I have to say anything. It's never easy being a parent with a disability, but her kind heart and thoughtfulness for others is a testament to the fact that people with disabilities CAN be good role models too"
