Introduction

Independent Lives is a registered charity Independent Lives (disability). The following policy is for any individuals or organisations accessing our training or hiring our training facilities including, but not limited to; outside organisations, Personal assistants (PAs), individual employers, self-funders and self-employed PAs.

Policy statement

Independent Lives understands that unexpected circumstances arise. However, to ensure the smooth running of our training program and to respect the time of our trainers and participants, the following cancellation policy may apply at our discretion.

Policy

  1. All training and room hire cancellations must be made at least 48 hours prior to the session starting. Cancellations made within this time will be eligible for a full refund (if paid) or rescheduling at no additional cost.
  2. Cancellations of training or room hire made between 24-48 hours before the session begins will incur a charge of 50% of the training cost as per our PA-Pages website, including any funded training from Skills for Care.
  3. Cancellations of training or room hire made under 24 hours before the session will incur a charge of 100% of the training cost as per our PA-Pages website, including any funded training from Skills for Care.
  4. Participants who do not attend the training and give no prior notice (i.e. do not cancel ahead) will not be eligible for a refund (if paid) and where payment has not been made this could be recharged at 100%. Where this is a funded session, Independent Lives reserve the right to charge the full cost of the training. We may also require payment upfront for rescheduling sessions.
  5. Requests to reschedule training or rebook rooms must also be made 48 hours before the scheduled booking. Requests made within 48 hours may incur a rescheduling charge unless the space can be filled by another delegate.
  6. We understand that emergencies happen. If there are extenuating circumstances, please contact us as soon as possible. We will use our discretion in terms of any charges levied.
